Chrysalids: Choice of location

The setting of this book is in Labrador, which has a relatively low population. Since the tribulation was nuclear, that would mean that there should have been a war, or an accident. For the sake of this article, we will assume that it was a war. In the war, places of power and resources were most likely targeted. All of Europe, America, and China and other such countries would have been destroyed. Places that are more secluded would have survived relatively untouched. For instance, Australia only has a thin population band around the southern coast, which means that that was probably left alone for the most part. This should mean that there are pockets of civilization throughout the world, like Sealand. The regions with extremes of temperature could have normal lives. Secluded regions will all have normal lives, and could be functioning as usual. In conclusion, there is much possibility for other civilizations throughout the world of Chrysalids.
